SAFEGUARDING

Safeguarding Officers - Lucy Walden and Kim Wooden

The club is committed to maintaining an environment which is positive and encouraging and free of harassment or abuse. Members must make themselves aware of the following policies and discuss any concerns, in confidence, with the Safeguarding Officer.

SAFEGUARDING ADULTS POLICY (APPROVED BY COMMITTEE - 21.3.23)

CODE OF CONDUCT (APPROVED BY COMMITTEE - 21.3.23)

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN POLICY (CURRENTLY BEING RE-DRAFTED)

HARASSMENT AND BULLYING The club will follow the Bowls Development Alliance policy which can be found at the following link: https://bowlsdevelopmentalliance.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Anti-Bullying-Policy.pdf

We are guided by the Bowls England policies and procedures which can be found on their website bowlsengland.com

Children, young people and vulnerable adults are covered by safeguarding legislation.  It is the responsibility of every club member to be aware of the Club's policies on conduct, harassment and safeguarding and do all they can to ensure that children and young or vulnerable adults are protected from harm.  Alcohol should never be given to underage children. If you suspect a child is being mistreated at home or in the community you must speak to the Safeguarding Officer (details below). IN AN EMERGENCY YOU CAN CONTACT THE NSPCC 24 hour HELPLINE ON 0808 800 5000.

We need to ensure that the behaviour of all our members and visitors is respectful at all times. Anyone who feels belittled, threatened or uncomfortable at any time (or witnesses such behaviour) should speak to Lucy or Kim, or to the President or Secretary or other member of the committee. There is a line between playful banter and harassment which must be respected.
