Women’s Centenary Challenge

To celebrate our 100 years we have a series of charity matches with 4 teams competing for the Challenge Cup: St Martins Swallows, St Martins Amazons, Kingsland Kingfishers and the Appletons (Bulmers with Wellington joint entry) Matches are on Tuesdays 30 Apr, 7 May, 14 May, 16 July, 13 Aug, 27 Aug with a Grande Finale on 10 September when the trophy will be presented. We are raising money for the Gaza Appeal. Thanks to those who have offered to make cakes.

All 2.30 unless otherwise stated

Please put the dates in your diaries. There will be 2 teams from St Martins, each consisting of two triples. Mandie will be the Captain for the Amazons and Lucy will be the Captain for the Swallows. You will be allocated to a team and then asked to sign up for as many games as you can. There are 7 matches. A match will consist of 2 games of 9 ends with a break for tea and cakes. After the break the home teams will move over and play the other triple of the competing team. E.g. Swallows 1 plays Kingfisher 1 and Swallows 2 plays Kingfisher 2 for 9 ends. After the tea break Swallows 2 plays Kingfisher 1 and Swallows 1 plays Kingfisher 2.

Scoring: 2 points for a win (per game of 9 ends) 1 for a draw and 2 bonus points for the team that has the highest score overall.

Substitutions are allowed, using players from the same or other clubs. We have a few names of people who will fill in in an emergency so contact Lucy if you are short.
