from Alan Link:
Good morning !
St. Martins BC have been successful in applying for a funding grant from Sport England with funding from the National Lottery. With a further donation from the local Hereford Lions Club.
The grant was sorted by Alan Link, Paul Kennett, Joanne Millington along with Sue Foden.
The Lions grant was kindly arranged by club member Phil Smith.
Hazel Vaughan also assisted in arranging a deal to obtain hand made fenders n blocks considerably cheaper than offered by main suppliers.
The grant has enabled us to purchase two new short mats complete with fenders, blocks and foot mats along with storage bags for the club.
These will be in place for the forth coming winter season 2024/25 at St. Martins bowling club Hereford.
We look forward to welcoming visiting league teams along with other teams for friendly games to St. Martins during the winter season to renew old and make new friendships during the coming season.
Anyone wishing to experience the game of short mat bowls is also welcome to come and try the sport @ St. Martins bowling club during the season from October to April.
We are working to arrange in coordination with HSMBA to donate our old short mats complete with fenders and blocks to local Herefordshire groups for free who have shown interest in commencing playing short mat bowls.
We hope this will help encourage them to continue to develop and play the short mat game and become new members of the Hereford Short Mat Bowling Association.
Regards,
Al Link (SMBC short Mat Secretary).
