SPECIAL NEEDS BOWLING

We have special equipment for adapted bowling and have recently started helping visually impaired bowlers.  Please contact our Secretary, Richard, on 01432 507483.

We are a mixed bowling Club that is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club that has full facilities to accommodate both Able-bodied & Disabled Bowlers. After a very successful appeal in 2008 for equipment to help Disabled Bowlers take part in a full game with able-bodied players we were able to purchase 4 Bradshaw Buggy wheel chairs, a number of sets of woods in various sizes, an aluminium ramp, and suitable storage for all the equipment. Each week a group of bowlers with special learning needs come to the green from a local Day Centre and with the help of Club members enjoy a couple of hours of bowling. They are getting very skilful.

We have facilities for people with all disabilities.

Not able to come to us !!!   we can bring equipment to you.

Visually Impaired Bowling

A group from various Herefordshire Bowls Club recently came to St Martin's for a training day with David Stott, National Development Officer for Visually Impaired Bowls England.  In the morning we were taught how to support blind and visually impaired bowlers.  In the afternoon we were joined by Vicky who is blind and Colin who is partially sighted and we tried out our skills on them. They were very enthusiastic and are both keen to keep on bowling.  Vicky has visited us again since then and she is making good progress so watch out everyone.  Colin is keen to enter the National VIBE Championships in Weston Super Mare next May.
