COMPETITION IN DEVON 2026

St.Martins short mat bowlers group headed to Langstone Cliff hotel Dawlish Warren for a 5 days short mat bowls competition.
Comprised of  Pairs and triples main compation with optional singles.
Group of 10 players
Jim Knowles, Joanne Millington, Kim wooden, Keith Jones, Peter Goulding, Barry Steele, Sue foden, Hazel Vaughan, Irene Healey, Glyn Perry.
A good week had by all.
The Monday night drawn social triples saw Glyn Perry,s triple come out on top.
The 5 pairs were  
Irene/Barry. Kim /Glyn. Pete/Keith, Sue/Hazel, Jim/Jo. All ended up in different groups playing Monday through to Wednesday.
The triples were
Hazel, Sue, Barry
Keith,Kim, Pete
Irene, Joanne, Jim
Glyn with Ano's. All in separate groups playing all day Thursday.
Hazel, Sue and Barry made it to the 1/4 final.
Pete's Triple going out in the 1/4 final preliminary round.
Joanne, Irene, Jim

The pairs had mixed fortunes in the group stages for our teams. Keith/pete getting out of their group on a best of the rest card before going out in the first knockout round.
Jo/Jim lost 1 won 4 to top the group on shots difference. Before going on to win some tight games and get through to the final on played on Friday morning .
A very close final went to the final 10th end level at 6all. In a tense last end with Jo/Jim holding 3 and the opposition skip with the last wood to play, wasn't able to change the outcome. Success for Joanne and Jim.
