EAGLES GO TO TOP OF LEAGUE 3

In the first match of the Division 3 Winter League, the Eagles overcame Aston Ingham Leadons by 8-2. Joanne played as a substitute with half of our squad indisposed. We also had Lucy making her debut. Thoughts go out to missing players, especially, to Hazel and Sue receiving treatment in hospital. We miss you and wish you all the best. Also for Chris, waiting for your operation and Trevor, who missed the match having a procedure.
In the match Joanne, Irene and Philip won 15-9 and 14-8. In both matches we were 3 shots down after 9 ends but had a great finish to both matches, picking up 9 shots on the last 3 ends, in each!
Lucy, Richard and Diane won 10-6 but went down 8-11 in the second match. Overall, a pleasing result with a squad in transition.
On Wednesday we were overpowered by a strong Hawks squad, losing the Asda derby, going down on all 4 rinks. We plan a return match in 2026, when we hope to have welcomed back absent friends.
We have a practice session next Tuesday, at 2pm. The next match is away to Ledbury Swallows on Thursday 23rd October.

LEDBURY SWALLOWS AWAY 23.10.25

Only 2 points at Ledbury, a tough place to go.
Despite 11 players now signed on, we only had 4 available and had to borrow 2 players from the Hawks.
In 3 of the matches we were very competitive. Lucy, Peter Goulding and Richard Won 12-8.  Unfortunately, they were well beaten in their second match, 15-3.
Alan Lane, Irene and Philip Lost the first match, 8-10, winning 7-5 in ends.
In the second they were 11-1 down after 6 ends but launched a big comeback, winning the second half by 9-1, falling short 10-12.
There is a Friendly v Golden Valley on Thursday, 7pm, at home. All welcome!
